What is Broadband
Broadband connections mean almost instant access to online
information, email, websites and many other services available over
the internet. For businesses it means communicating more quickly and
more reliably with customers and suppliers. For all of us it means that
information can move into and out of our homes and businesses much more
efficiently than before. We can help you decide which solution suits
you best. And when the time comes we'll be on hand to get you up and
running.
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)
Digital Subscriber Line, or DSL, is a high-speed Internet connection
delivered into a home or business through the telephone line. DSL delivers
Internet access at up to 50 times the speed of your dial-up modem. Generally
between 1 and 3 Mbps This may allow you to do a lot more on the Internet
in less time. And you can tap into the Internet's richer multimedia
capabilities, such as audio and video.
Cable Broadband
Cable broadband can also make your Internet access many times faster
than with a conventional dialup modem. Cable Internet works over the
same networks that provide cable television service. Typical cable Internet
speed is similar to that of DSL at somewhere between 1 and 3 Mbps. Roughly
from 20 to 50 times faster than traditional dialup. And, because it
is always connected, cable Internet is more convenient than having to
connect using a conventional modem. In addition, cable Internet doesn't
need a telephone line.
